Intermatic Inc. Model LZ 10131 Garden lamp
Top view showing 2 x 2 inch Solar Panel on the end of a 3.3 inch cylinder.
Velcro was used to hold it to the deck on the boat.
Top contains, solar cells, battery, controls, and LED.
It twists and locks unto lower lens unit.
The Fresnel Lens is too small to fit around the control unit.
The next step may well be the removal of the LED from the control unit and add it to the  Davis Mini Amp Mega Light and then connect a wire to the LED's location on the Intermatic.  This will get the LED down inside the Fresnel Lens where I think it has to be right smack in the middle of the lens.

with a 14.4V 100ma model 1813 lamp
The trick is to get an LED in a bayonet fixture that has a .020 ma draw at roughly 1.0 volts and has omni directional output    Two years later I saw one of my fellow Sturgeon Bayers with a much brighter light on his moored Red Baron near 12th and Memorial.  That winter I saw him at the Y and asked him to e-mail me some details on how he did it.
Click here for the Malibu one panel four light approach. actually uses eight LED's.
