The next step may well be the removal of the LED from the control unit and add it to the Davis Mini Amp Mega Light and then connect a wire to the LED's location on the Intermatic. This will get the LED down inside the Fresnel Lens where I think it has to be right smack in the middle of the lens.

The trick is to get an LED in a bayonet fixture that has a .020 ma draw at roughly 1.0 volts and has omni directional output Two years later I saw one of my fellow Sturgeon Bayers with a much brighter light on his moored Red Baron near 12th and Memorial.
